HEA Director election results
Homer Electric Association announced its 2020 Board of Directors election results today. With no incumbents in the races for HEA’s District 1 (Kenai, Nikiski, and parts of Soldotna) and District 2 (Soldotna, Sterling, and Kasilof), two first-time directors are coming to the board to serve three year terms. They are Jim Duffield, who beat opponent Erik Hendrickson in District 1, and Charles “C.O” Rudstrom, who ran unopposed in District 2.
In District 3 (south Kasilof, Kachemak Bay area), incumbent Eugene “Jim” Levine beat two challengers to be re-elected.
In total, 4063 votes were cast by HEA’s 24,309 members, for a 16.7 percent turnout. This is a usual turnout for the director elections, despite the cancellation of HEA’s annual meeting — at which members would have had the chance to cast in-person ballots — due to COVID-19. The majority of ballots have usually been cast by mail.
