HEA Board Elections Underway

Voting is currently underway in board elections at Homer Electric Association. Ballots were mailed to HEA members on April 4. Completed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday May 3 to be counted. If the HEA Annual Meeting is held in-person on May 4, members who have not voted by mail will have an opportunity to vote there. However, since it is still uncertain whether or not HEA will hold its Annual Meeting in person, due to Covid-19 considerations, HEA is urging its members to vote by mail.

HEA members are selecting one board member for each of the cooperative’s three districts. Members are only eligible to vote in the race for their district. There are three candidates for the seat in District 1. Daniel Hyman, Summer Lazenby, and Wayne Ogle. Dan Chay, the current holder of this seat, is not running for re-election.

In District 2 Daniel Furlong is running unopposed.

Four candidates are vying for the seat in District 3. These include the incumbent, Erin McKittrick, and three challengers: Troy Jones, Lonnie Lambert, and Dr. Douglas A. Stark.

Biographies and election statements by the candidates can be found on the Homer Electric website:  https://www.homerelectric.com/my-cooperative/board-of-directors/elections/

AETP has sent questionnaires to all the HEA candidates and will post their replies to our Elections page as they are received.
